Who We Are
MICS represents the meeting point for health professionals who, starting from the common interest in the world of the microbiota, have begun to apply it in clinical practice to enrich their prophylactic and therapeutic possibilities. The great richness of MICS is the heterogeneity of professional backgrounds which allows an interactive collaboration and an expansion of the overall vision, to discover that the human being is a macrosystem in which it is not possible to fully understand the pathophysiology without the microbial world co - evolved with it. Thus the desire to create a collaboration network that unites as many professional experiences as possible grows progressively within the group.
What is MICS, how it was born, what it proposes
MICS was born from the awareness that microbiomics influences and will influence in the coming decades all aspects of medicine from biological to purely clinical ones and therefore from the desire and need to involve as many professionals as possible who, through their knowledge, experience and perspective, we want to help outline in an ever clearer way how microbiomics can support and enrich the various medical ambitions. The MICS aims to bring together in a constructive program of debate, updating, training, dissemination and research, figures related to the health professions and health techniques.
Unlike other scientific societies that focus mainly on the microbiota in a strictly analytical sense, the prerogative of MICS wants to be that of dealing with the practical impact of microbiomics, highlighting the clinical advantages of its knowledge, its modulation and its use alongside the conventional therapies.
